1) AVOID HIGH SEASON PERIODS
The Colosseum is visited on average everyday by 21 thousand people but most of them visit Rome during hish season periods.
High season in Rome is from April to June and from September to October.
Our tip is to choose a low season period because less people will visit the Colosseum and you will face a smaller line outside the Colosseum
(high season line to enter in the Colosseum)
2) PURCHASE YOUR ADMISSION TICKET IN ADVANCE
There is a limited number of admission tickets for hour, so it means that if you don't schedule your Colosseum visit, booking your ticket in advance, you will face the problem to find an admission ticket of the Colosseum in the place.
If you didn't book a ticket in advance, you will meet several skip the line sellers that will try to sell you a guided group tour for 35-45 euros for person.
The admission ticket costs only 18 euros and there are also discounts and gratuites for youngs.
